“Alright” is CYN’s third single from her upcoming debut album. Released on March 2, 2018 via Katy Perry’s label Unsub Records, the track is her most upbeat release to date, described by i-D as “a dark, dance-floor ready track”.
Upon premiering the song, CYN said that it was written while “thinking about the comments teachers would make about me on report cards or notes home to my parents”. Thus, it acts as a sort of self-empowerment anthem, in which she acknowledges her flaws but realises she’s doing “alright” just as she is.
