25 Lighters is the first single released from wifi’s 2018 mixtape, “Ethernet”. The video was teased around two weeks prior to release via his Instagram.

Wifi left social media for almost a week, deleting all his Instagram posts and tweeting two tweets including nothing but html coding.

He returned, with a video teasing the song and a link to his website, which had no more than a picture of his logo and a countdown to midnight on March 9th, 2018, eastern standard time.

Within the song itself, wifi pays homage to late Houston rapper Fat Pat, who died in February 1998, when wifi was just 11 months old. He uses the song title “25 Lighters”, as well as lyrics from the hook:

25 Lighters on my dresser yessir, I gots to get paid

Interestingly, the music video does not include the second verse of the song, but the versions available to stream do.
