It was first announced on YBN Nahmir’s instagram post, stating:

The beat is sampled by Eminem/Slim Shady’s song “My Name Is,” made back in January of 1999.

In this song, Cordae brags about his fun-filled lifestyle as a young rapper.

Cordae said he chose to use “My Name Is” as his first single because he believed the original to be one of the greatest introductions of all time.
