“Clouds” relates back to the albums theme of positivity and understanding your life’s value. Throughout the album he’s discussed how he didn’t have a positive perspective on life in the past, but now he’s living the life he wanted. From “Zoom” to “To the Moon”, Kyle is constantly discussing how he’s progressed from a life he didn’t like.

Clouds is a song about Kyle’s own lack if positivity, and how he was missing the World around him by not (metaphorically) “looking up at the clouds”.
