“4 Gold Chains” is a posthumously-released single from Lil Peep. In typical Peep fashion, he tells of his struggles with relationships, drugs, and both the pain and luxuries that come with his fame.

Peep first announced the song on his Twitter on the morning of November 15, 2017 (one of his final tweets, as he passed away on the same day).

An unofficial leak was first uploaded to YouTube on April 2nd, 2018 under the title “Gold Chains.”

Later, on May 10, producer Clams Casino posted an image of Peep’s tweet on his Instagram, hinting that the song would soon be released. The next day, it was announced on Peep’s Instagram that it would be played for the first time ever on May 13 at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami, Florida.
