“4 AM” (stylized as 4Æm) is a song Grimes teased on Twitter on June 5, 2018. It appears in the soundtrack for Cyberpunk 2077, a video game released in 2020.

Grimes stated in her teaser tweet that her inspiration for this song comes from the 2015 Bollywood film Bajirao Mastani as a cyberpunk interpretation wherein she sings from the main character, Mastani’s, perspective. This inspiration is made evident in her first performance of the song at the 2019 Game Awards, where she mimics Mastani’s iconic dance scene in the song “Diwani Mastani”, which also appears to be sampled throughout “4ÆM”.
