Outro: Tear is the eleventh track off LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’ and continues BTS’s tradition of including an intro and outro on almost every album.

According to an article on Naver the song has been described as

a hip-hop track with samples from the main music from the LOVE YOURSELF Highlight Reel 轉 and member RM, Suga, and J-Hope’s powerful rapping."

The track is related to their last “Outro: Her”. The theme is similar, since they’re wondering about real love. However, TEAR is a darker reflection where they have discovered that love isn’t comprised solely of happy and lighthearted moments as they thought before.

In 2020, from their docu series Break the Silence, Yoongi revealed that this song was written to the members of BTS while they were discussing possibly disbanding.
