BTS’s newest fan song, “Magic Shop” is all about using the mind to ease the heart.

As the seventh track on LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’, “Magic Shop” continues the theme of space and universes as established by “134340”, and demonstrates BTS’s appreciation for their fans, ARMY. The song comes after previous fan songs such as “둘! 셋! (그래도 좋은 날이 더 많기를)”, from BTS’s 2016 album, Wings, or “Miss Right” from BTS’s 2014 album, Skool Luv Affair (Special Addition)

The song is based on the book, Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon’s Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart by James Doty. The ‘Fake Love’ Official Teaser 1 explains that,

‘Magic Shop’ is a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude.

Magic Shop’s title was also hinted at during their “Spring Day" performance at the 2017 KBS Music Festival.

At the Love Yourself 轉 ‘Tear’ press conference on May 24, 2018, Jungkook mentioned how this song was written to be a “consolation” for the fans who felt frustrated or tired, and that if they opened the door in their heart to the ‘magic shop,’ they would find the peace and strength as the 7 BTS would be members waiting for them there.

This song is really written for our fans. If people can gain strength and get consoled through this song, we think we would be very happy about this.
