Emma Blackery purges has learned her lesson and decides to purge the rest of her negative emotions and move on on “Burn The Witch.” The song appears as the penultimate track from her debut album Villains. The album was released on August 31, 2018.

Written with album collaborator and producer Toby Scott, the song serves as the “sister track” to lead single “Dirt.” Blackery revealed this while teasing the track on Instagram

so, some of the songs on this album come in pairs. villains pt. 1 and pt. 2, for instance. agenda and take me out show two sides to being shunned by friends. burn the witch is dirt’s sister track. it tells the story of finally overcoming the hurt i felt, and making one final purge of negativity. it is the final fight scene in a movie. the outro, which you haven’t heard yet, is the moment i rejoice in lady karma’s goodness and finally cut all ties emotionally, and let go of the toxic people in my life. roses are red, violets are blue… 🌹

On the back of the vinyl-album artwork, the track list has little messages explaining what each song is directed towards. This song is ‘For The Purge of Hatred’.
