“Actual Pain” is the lead single to Good Charlotte’s seventh studio album. It is a return to their emo punk roots. The song addresses dark themes such as addiction and was inspired by the death of GC superfan Lil Peep.

Good Charlotte performed at his memorial in December and felt moved to write about the drug problems they see in today’s youth.
