Boy Wonder, Come to Me to Survive the Internet Bully

Ruby Rose Fox

The closing track to her album Salt, Ruby Rose Fox’s “Boy Wonder, Come to Me to Survive the Internet Bully” dates back to 2016. It was originally titled “Age of the Internet Bully” and had been performed during various live performances until it was finally included on her sophomore album under a new title. The song references a “Boy Wonder” who Ruby considers her savior from the “age of the internet bully”. Though it is unknown who exactly this character is, Boy Wonder was an alternate name for Batman’s sidekick, Robin.

Ruby revealed in an interview with WGBH that the song was written right after the 2016 election, but was becoming “more and more relevant”.
