“Chokehold” is about a breakup from the man’s point of view. It features more singing than usual, compared to Slaves' commonly shouted lyrics. It is the second single off of their upcoming, third album Acts of Fear and Love. It was broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio One as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record for Monday 30th of July 2018, with the music video being released the next day.

It was first played live on the 9th of June 2018 at 53 Degrees North in Kingston Upon Hull.
