“Forever” comprises the sixth track on Lewis Capaldi’s album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. As another love song on this album, this slow, sentimental ballad was synthesised mainly with piano and combined with a mellow bass.

Here, Capaldi expresses that everything is temporary, like relationships or life itself. No matter how hard someone tries to achieve a potential goal of a lifetime with a person you commit to, the term forever is such an abstract term which people cannot comprehend fully. Even though forever was not an initial intention of both partners in this song, a meaningful and mutual connection is always hoped and searched for.
