I co-produced this song with Chilly Q (aka Q Neighbor)
The actual beat was a song, i did for myself, a few years before, called “Feelin' Kinda Horny”. (it’s on my discography album LIFE WORK – digitally released in 2018) It was on my demo tape from 1986, and i used to play it at the cold chillin' office sometimes. Fly Ty (tyrone williams) heard it, and like it. He asked if i would consider changing the concept and produce it for Shante. I agreed and he pulled in Q Neighbor , who had additional ideas for the record. He also wrote most of the record. “Bobby from Tower Records” was actually a guy that worked at Tower Records, where we got a record that we needed to use in the production.
