In “Can’t You See” Why Don’t We sing of unrequited love, falling for a girl who doesn’t feel the same way. The track shares similar ocean imagery to another track from 8 Letters, “In Too Deep.” It is one of two songs on the album that features all five band members as lyricists.

“Can’t You See” is one of the more downbeat and mature-sounding songs on the album, featuring haunting instrumentals and deep backing vocals.

When released, “Can’t You See” was originally titled “Falling.” Over two years later, the band changed its name after releasing a single titled “Fallin' (Adrenaline)” in September 2020.
