“Are You Ready” is a song about taking back control of your life from societies rules.

The music for this song was actually written in 2004 for the Ten Thousand Fists album, but was put on the backburner because they had too many songs for that album already and now for the Evolution album Dan, as he put it, “sneaked” the music back and David (not realizing it was music from 14 years ago) wrote lyrics for it. That’s what gives it this genuine old school Disturbed-vibe.

This was the first single released from Disturbed’s album Evolution, which the fans got to choose. Prior to the release Disturbed’s fans could chose between a “heavy song” or a “ballad” on their website.
