“Abraham, Martin, And John” was written in response of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy. Also mentioned is the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, as well as John F. Kennedy. All 4 of these individuals had a large impact with civil rights issues, and their deaths are arguably related to the progress each was making.
