Discussing the origin of the song, Christina wrote: “I wrote this song the morning after the 2016 election. I had just moved from Australia to America as a 20 year old female, I woke up feeling scared. This song was written 20 minutes later and throughout the year + since, my fears have been becoming realities. From all the outing of sexual harassment cases, to mass shootings, to police brutality, I could not have felt more unsafe in a new country. I hope this spreads love and hope to all the youth out there who feel a little scared like me.”
