Teaming up with rapper and hitmaker, Cardi B, Pardison Fontaine released his hip-hop track, “Backin' It Up”. It is the first song on which they both rap together, however, it should be noted that this is not the first time that Fontaine and Almanzar have worked on music together, since the two are good friends.

Evidence of their past collaborations can be found on tracks from Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy—such as her hit single “Bodak Yellow”—as well as an old video of the pair partying prior to her rise to fame, which indicates their friendship.

Initially, the song was teased at the 2018 Video Music Award afterparty, which was attended by Cardi herself and, ultimately released in early September of that year. The accompanying video features Pardi hanging around at a pizzeria and dimly lit dancefloor, where the Bronx-raised rapper joins him, too.
