“Disneyland” is a song about being honest more than anything. It was written for a girl to sing initially, but ultimately I thought it could work for a guy, too. Mostly when guys blow people off they just lie or deflect or redirect emotions and pull all sorts of stunts to avoid their feelings. I thought it was refreshing to just simply state the truth, that “I don’t wanna be your boyfriend…I just wanna be a player”. Maybe that’s caustic, but I thought it was a bit refreshing. The song can also be heard by the listener sarcastically as a fake fukboi anthem.
