This is the acoustic version of “8 Letters” by Why Don’t We.

The song is about a phrase containing eight letters, which was later confirmed as the phrase ‘I love you’. It is the band’s third single and title track from their debut album.

The song elaborates on the topic of being nervous about falling in love again, but trying to trust, and finally saying ‘I love you’ because of a past experience of heartbreak.

“Runner”, another one of their songs, shares a similar meaning, yet is interpreted from the opposite perspective.
