“Sue Me” is a song about coming out on top after leaving a negative relationship by channeling the confidence and strength that was always within.

The song was inspired by a real-life lawsuit issued against Carpenter as the year prior to the release of the song, Carpenter’s former music managers sued the singer, her management, and her parents for commissions after she left the company.

The song was made the second single from its parent album, Singular: Act 1 on the same day as its release, November 9, 2018.
