“Cheers” features a verse from former A Tribe Called Quest member Q-Tip. On the song, both .Paak, and Tip reminisce about lost friends. These include .Paak’s friend and collaborator Mac Miller, and Q-Tip’s childhood-friend and former A Tribe Called Quest member Phife Dawg. Despite the heavy subject matter, the song is not sad, as they are giving love to their friends, and celebrating them with a toast; hence the name “Cheers.”
