Both of these songs (25 in Barcelona & Blurry) are about connecting to you. One where it was awesome and one where it wasn’t. One a couple of years ago in your bedroom — in love, lost in you, and disconnected from everything else. One a month after we broke up, halfway around the world the day after my birthday — in love, lost in you, and disconnected from everything else. A lot of my songs are on either side of a feeling like that, and this felt like the most honest way to share them. “Both Can Be True: Part 1” (shoutout Katrina Kirkpatrick on the name.. pro tip: hang out with poets.
