He really splits opinion amongst the Gooner faithful, with some billing him as a complete dud and others believing he really thrives in a fully-fit Arsenal side. But with 22 goals in 51 appearances (and 11 assists) during the 2013/14 campaign so far, his presence and contribution can’t be pushed aside. It’s also a testament to his fitness that he’s played stayed for the most part completely fit – free of injury, at least – throughout the entire season, even if at times he’s appeared absolutely jaded.

This is barely comparable due to very different circumstances, styles of play and deployments, but a certain French Arsenal Legend finished his second (of an eventual eight) season with a record of: P58 G22 A3
