Do Nothing / Bitchslap

Do Nothing / Bitchslap

Slipknot

Track 3 on Slipknot’s official first self-distributed album, that was self-released on October 31st (Halloween) 1996.

The song features a whole funk part, which entirely changes from the heavy metal music Slipknot usually makes. It most likely is inspired by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The song was remade on the “Gold Disc” demo album, and later on a 1997 rendition of Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. featuring Corey Taylor.

In 2019, current Slipknot singer Corey Taylor responded to a fan, saying that “Do Nothing / Bitchslap” is the “one MFKR song from that era” he wants to bring back. The song has not been performed live since August 24th, 1997.

When playing this song live, the band would play a sample from “The Bends” by Mr. Bungle before the song plays.
