“Retroville” is named after fictional city Retroville, USA from the Nickelodeon film and television series, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

Originally named “Rocket,” Pi'erre announced on December 2, 2018 that A$AP Rocky would feature on it, but ultimately didn’t make the final cut. On February 25th, 2020, he shared a few seconds of Rocky’s verse, and once again teased the track on his Instagram story on June 19th, 2020.
