Over the Rainbow (Duet Version)

Over the Rainbow (Duet Version)

Ray Charles (Ft. Johnny Mathis)

“Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is a song about happiness and always looking past the bad over the rainbow to the good side.

“Where troubles melt like lemon drops” is an example of a simile. This describes that you should think in the future and let all your troubles melt away. It is a comparison using like or as.

Hyperbole is shown in this example “Someday I’ll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me” this is a hyperbole as it is obviously an extreme exaggeration.

“Somewhere over the rainbow” is a repetition. This is a line said throughout the whole sign and it is just repeating over and over again.

Imagery is shown in the line “skies are blue” also “away above the chimney tops” this gives the listener of the song a nice image to picture while listening to the song. When those lines are said i think of bright blue skies, and being high up in the sky.
