“Afraid of Nothing” is an opening to the “Are We There” album. The title “Are We There” is a question she asked herself in her past relationship. After all these years with the partner, she wondered “where are we?”, “are we there yet?” to determine on what stage they are on.

According to an interview with FaceCulture, “Afraid of Nothing” is about “being able to rise above the hard stuff, looking beyond yourself in order to pursue something. Like having a relationship with someone even though it’s hard and loving them even though it’s not easy. Singing all these songs with all that over is really hard.”
