“Numb Numb Juice” is the lead single to ScHoolboy Q’s fifth studio album. The track first appeared on his Instagram with a 0:51 video clip of Q in the studio, after a series of hints on all of his social media platforms. The track was officially released on March 14, 2019, on all streaming services.

The menacing track finds Q returning to the rap game with his “coins up, bars up,” ready to hop out and shoot his opps like a “Jack-In-The-Box”—which serves as a metaphor, in that he is ready to kill it in the rap game as well.

The single was supported by a YouTube live premiere of the music video.

Producer DJ Fu talked about how the track came together:

This song is crazy because, originally, it was done by Sounwave, Baby Keem, and Cardo. Top [Dawg]’s son came to the studio like ‘Hey, Fu, can you build a new beat around this?’ I did it, and then Top and them loved it, but then Q’s like, ‘Nah, Fu, I know you can do better.’ So I came to the studio and we re-did the main melody and fixed it right there.
