“Armistice” is the title track of Mutemath’s second album. It features horns by the traditional horn New Orleans outfit Rebirth Brass Band. Those who pre-ordered the album, received the funk/soul remix “Armistice (2nd Line Version)” as a bonus track.

An armistice is an agreement for two warring parties to cease fire while a more lasting peace is being negotiated. Here the lyrics keep that within the context of romance. By the time of the album’s release, most of the band members had gotten married or engaged, only increasing the relevance of the subject.
