“Bags” is the first single from Clairo’s debut album Immunity. It was first teased on May 24, 2019, with Clairo announcing that the track would be available at midnight.

Co-produced by Rostam, the song sheds the hazy, lo-fi, aesthetic prevalent in Clairo’s previous work. Instead, the track is brighter and more focused, embracing soft guitar, wavy synths, and twinkling piano, bringing a new sheen to Clairo’s music. “Bags” was inspired by Clairo’s first time with a girl, lyrically presenting a narrative where she struggles to tell her love interest that she’s crushing on them, hard.

In October 2019, Pitchfork ranked the song at #123 in their “The 200 Best Songs of the 2010s” list.
