The song that started an all out beef between two trap legends, and depending on who you ask, eventually lead to a man getting killed.

It all started when Jeezy’s label Def Jam wanted to to make “Icy” a Jeezy track, while Gucci fought to keep it his record. This is what sparked the conflict between the two rappers. Jeezy also went on to claim he was never even paid royalties for the track.

The two then went to the studio to trade verbal blows after Jeezy released “Stay Strapped” a diss track aimed at Gucci Mane.

In the track he put a $10,000 bounty out for Guwop’s chain.

Real talk nigga, and I want that motherfucking bullshit-ass ICEY chain
Cause you need to take that monkey shit off you, embarrassing us nigga
Matter of fact, real talk nigga, I got a bounty on that shit nigga, ten stacks

This lead to Gucci releasing a diss track of his own titled “Round One”.

The feud reached its peak when 5 men ran into Gucci’s female friends home, for his chain while he was visiting her. He was able to shoot one of the men, and his body was found buried behind a middle in Georgia.

A warrant was put out for Gucci’s arrest, and he turned himself in 3 days later. Gucci got locked up, but eventually was acquitted 9 months later after claiming self defense, and having an eye witness back up his claim.

Jeezy and Gucci eventually called a truce with each other after Guwop called in to DJ Drama’s “Gangsta Grillz Radio show” on Hot 107.9 to squash the beef.

The truce didn’t last long after the two artist’s crews got into a fight outside of a clothing store in Atlanta, in which Waka Flocka Flame’s security guard fired shots. Gucci Mane was still locked up at the time, and Jeezy wasn’t even there.

Tensions have settled since then, with Gucci getting out of prison on May 26, 2016. Still the beef hasn’t been officially ended.
