“Julien” is the first track of Carly Rae Jepsen’s fourth studio album Dedicated. She released the song as the fourth single on April 19, 2019 as a follow-up to the cover and tracklist reveal a day earlier.
In an Instagram post she stated, that the song taught her the heart and direction of the album, so she couldn’t keep it for herself anymore.
