Released on April 14 2019, this is J Hus’ first single since being let out of prison.

He was sentenced to 8 months in December 2018 for possession of a knife. The freestyle was recorded at GRM Daily before he went to prison but was delayed until his release. Lyrically, Hus references several different songs, from R. Kelly’s ‘Ignition’ to Kodak Black’s ‘Roll In Peace’, and ends with a hint that new music is on the way.

J Hus also recently made his return to the stage when Drake brought out the fellow rapper at one of his London shows. The O2 cameo marked Hus’ first stage appearance since his sentence.

Musically, this marks the beginning of a new phase in Hus’s music, the fruition of which we have not yet fully seen. The tone of his sound is now much more reflective of his past actions and clearly shows the maturity he has gained both as an artist and as a person.
