This song was written by lead singer of Tenth Avenue, North, Mike Donehey, after their release of “Control (Somehow You Want Me).” They wrote the first song after the band thought about giving up the band to spend more time with family, but God gave it back to them. According to a video Mike made about what was going on behind the scenes of the music video, he recalls sitting in the kitchen of his home REGRETING not being their for his family. He was so upset, he began crying and singing, the lines of what became the chorus of the song.
