RRILEY

In the debut single and self-empowerment anthem, Sandra Riley Tang takes on an all-new persona with the stage name RRILEY while she explores the idea of going solo and departing her former band The Sam Willows. Shortly after the release of the song, the pop band announced that they have decided to go on an hiatus. Writing on an Instagram post, RRILEY says:

We’ll meet again. Don’t know where, don’t know when. But I know we’ll meet again, Some sunny day.

In a May 28, 2019 interview with Bandwagon Asia, RRILEY described the song as “definitely [sassier], and maybe a little bit more poppy.” On whether she regards the song was an empowerment anthem, she says:

This song is really about being confident about stepping out of your comfort zone; jumping straight into the fire and doing something that you might be afraid of doing.

In the same interview, the pop singer has also revealed that she has been thinking about starting a solo career for a long time but when it came to putting out the song and filming the music video, she started “doubting [herself] and [her] ideas.”
