“Hat 2 Da Back” was the fourth single released from TLC’s debut album. The single, which features the remixed version used in the music video, peaked at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #14 on the Hot R&B Singles charts.

The song is TLC’s response to those who criticized their attire when were coming up as a group: the baggy pants, graffiti T-shirts, condoms attached to their clothes and the big colorful hats. Basically, this track signified that they’re going to represent themselves in the way they see fit, and whatever people say does not phase them.
