“A Check for Daniel” is the closing track from Ra Ra Riot’s fifth studio album Superbloom. According to the band, the song is about “runaway rent prices in New York.”

The song was part of Ra Ra Riot’s 2019 fall headlining tour, used as the final encore. Frontman Wes Miles described the song in an interview with Billboard as being a “fan favorite.”
