“Life of the Party” is YouTube sensation Shawn Mendes' first original single. Shawn is well known for his work with other artists but according to an interview with MTV he always found it “weird” covering other people’s music.

Because of this, on June 25th 2014, Shawn released this single, a song with an often minimal piano instrumental, innocently romantic lyrics, and a gracefully rich voice. Within hours, the song reached #1 on iTunes:
