“1993” is a weed smoking posse cut in which the artists trade bars about their experiences with marijuana. Each verse is cut off by Buddy, who plays a fretful character that interrupts whenever someone is too distracted to pass the blunt.

This marks Smino’s second collaboration with Dreamville artists, the other being on the albums final track “Sacrifices,” with J. Cole & EARTHGANG.

Following the songs release, Cole referred to Buddy as a “Real life legend” through a tweet:
