2Pac Must Die (Orlando Anderson)

Glasses Malone

Glasses Malone raps from the perspective of Orlando Anderson, the prime suspect in the shooting death of Tupac Shakur. Malone details the alleged events that transpired that fateful night, in order to tell Anderson’s “side of the story.” The track and its accompanying music video stirred up controversy within the hip-hop community, as reported by The Source, HipHopDX, and other publications covering its July 17 release.

The mystery of who killed Tupac Shakur was never officially solved by police, but this song plays on the notion that Anderson was responsible. The two were involved in a physical altercation that was captured by security cameras at the MGM Grand Casino on September 7, 1996—just hours before Pac was gunned down in a drive-by. Anderson was subsequently arrested for questioning on October 2, but nothing came of these interrogations. He was eventually shot to death in a separate incident on May 29, 1998.

Malone has come under fire for his brazen use of social media to promote the video, including Twitter and Instagram posts carrying pointed messages, such as:
