“Banana Man” was written by Joe Hawley. It was released multiple times before it was released in its final form on Tally Hall’s 2008 reissue of Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum. The music video was fairly popular, especially for a band with as little notoriety as Tally Hall.

It was this song that broadened Tally Hall’s fanbase due to the music video being featured on AlbinoBlackSheep.

There are several interpretations of this song, including that it is about capitalism and banana republics, drug addiction, going with the flow of life instead of worrying, and that the song is ultimately meaningless, a simple song about pleasant nonsense.
