The song was recorded on September 28, 2018, according to a leaked video of the studio session. The song was leaked on August 5, 2019. Not long after, Pi'erre Bourne tweeted that the intro to The Life of Pi'erre 5 had leaked (referring to this song). According to Pi'erre, the song will still end up on the project despite the leak.

This song was allegedly track 9 on the original version of Whole Lotta Red, Carti’s sophomore studio album that was released on December 25, 2020.
