Camila Cabello started off her sophomore album, Romance with a bang, giving listeners not one, but two tracks that see her finally facing her feelings about a crush. In conjunction with the release of “Shameless,” a music video for the song was released, directed by Henry Scholfield, who has previously worked with Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa.

The track was first hinted at on August 12, 2019, when Camila was spotted filming a music video in Los Angeles. During this shoot, the unreleased track was heard, with a “Celebrity Photo Agency” called BACKGRID TV posting a video of the shoot to YouTube, which included part of the track’s audio.

As part of Spotify’s “The Romance Experience,” Camila commented on the track:

I love songs that talk about making love and the connection. And how amazing and almost transcendent it feels when you have you have that find of intimacy with somebody that you’re in love with.
