“Xanax” is a song recorded by Lindsay Lohan in 2019 and intended to be released as the follow-up single to “Back to Me”.

Lindsay revealed she was recording new music in June 2019 and begun teasing it on social media in the following months. In August 28, 2019, Virgin Radio Dubai premiered a snippet of a new song titled “Xanax”. Host Kris Fade described it as being “about anxiety and pressure and just taking care of yourself” and having “a really cool message behind it”.

In September, Lindsay shared a video while working on the full version of the track in the studio. Later that month, she posted a longer preview of “Xanax” on IGTV synced to an iMovie montage made up of short candid clips from her daily life, writing in the caption: “Family, love, the process of moving forward and letting go of the past. To live and be happy, free of fear. Just to be grateful and open our eyes to our opportunities instead of numbing the mind.”

In the following year, Lindsay confirmed to fans the song was set to be released as a single after “Back to Me”.
