“Desires” is Drake and Future’s second collaboration of 2020, following January’s “Life Is Good.”

On August 29, 2019, Future teased a snippet of this track via his Instagram Story. On December 20, 2019, a second snippet surfaced online. A demo of the song, thought to be titled “I Know,” was leaked on January 4, 2020.

On January 31, 2020, an official version of the track was released on the OVO SoundCloud page. The official version featured two additional verses from Drake. The track appeared under the title “DESIRES LEAK 2020 SUPER FUTURE DRAKE,” indicating that Drake and Future were aware of the demo’s leak.

The song was eventually placed on Drake’s fifth mixtape, Dark Lane Demo Tapes.
