Chasing the Sun

Chasing the Sun

Hilary Duff

“Chasing the Sun” is written by Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves, and Toby Gad, the latter of which also produced the track.

The song features a light plucky guitar intro that follows through the song, and a standard acoustic-pop sound. Lyrically it tells the classic tale of trying to live and enjoy life while you can.

In an interview with PopJustice regarding “Chasing the Sun” and her upcoming album, Duff said:

I do like to have fun and I do like to live as carefree and big as possible and do things that make me happy and be a positive person. So the album took on those kinds of legs and I got inspired by some of the folkier-type music. I love Mumford & Sons and I love The Lumineers. It’s definitely a straightforward pop album but with a bit of that influence in there.

She also described the song and upcoming album as “earthy and authentic.”
