The second single from The Who’s 2019 album WHO, lead singer Roger Daltrey was initially skeptical of the original demo for “All This Music Must Fade”.

According to an NME article, Daltrey explained that songwriter Pete Townshend wanted him to rap in the song, although this didn’t exactly go down well with the lead singer:

On the demo, he had some rapping on it… Well, no fucking way I’m going to rap. No way. Let the youngsters wear those clothes.
