“By the Throat” is Eyedea & Abilities' (or “E&A”) third and final studio album. Released in 2009, it was slightly different from most E&A albums. It included more Alternative Rock into the songs. However, Eyedea’s witty, thought-provoking lyrics are still there. From drugs to death, Eyedea lets it all out. It’s by far the more honest E&A album. The album has a slight Nirvana-esque sound. Mainly due to Eyedea’s liking of Kurt Cobain. The album also was compared to Eyedea’s side band, “Carbon Carousel”, and their album. Unfortunately, Eyedea passed away leaving the start of E&A’s new sound behind.

“Burn Fetish” is the fourth song on “By the Throat”. It covers topics of death, drugs, and schizophrenic behavior. The song is hard to comprehend since these are Eyedea’s honest thoughts and feelings.
